Position Mission:The Assistant Controller supports the Controller's efforts to manage the fiscal functions of the company for the accurate and ethical execution of the company's financial resources.The Assistant Controller is committed to leading change management efforts by building relationships and establishing trust.The Assistant Controller embodies the culture, vision and core values of the organization, pursues a team mindset, and promotes security, risk management, optimal performance, integrity, accuracy and ethical financial reporting.Position Objectives:- Support the Controller's efforts to streamline the accounting department, including a project-management style approach to analyze and improve current policies, processes, and procedures- Lead and implement departmental improvements; oversee change efforts to ensure team member success- Organize and prioritize department-specific tasks, including Internal Audit and Collections- Produce timely and accurate reporting as requested to improve data-based decision making- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods and principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)- Fulfill measurements of success, including metrics and KPI's for collections, reconciliations, and auditingQualifications:- BS Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred- 4-5+ years of experience in auditing, reconciliation, and financial reporting in privately held companies- Self-starter is a must- Collaboration and team orientation mindset with an ability to inspire performance- Advanced MS Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations- Excellent negotiation, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills- Action-oriented and decisive- Unwavering ethical leadership, credibility, and conduct- Understanding of technology as it relates to strategic accounting initiatives- Drive to grow professionally
