supporting children and youth in foster care! CLC is the largest
children's legal services organization in the nation, serving
33,000 clients in the Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Placer County
child welfare systems. CLC is looking to hire a dedicated Payroll
Manager to join our growing Finance team. We are a 500+
employee-focused nonprofit organization with an annual budget of
over $70 million. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the
Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all CLC's payroll
functions, including supervising 3 payroll staff members, to ensure
that pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with
applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is a highly
organized and proactive team player. While this position is
primarily remote, the successful candidate will be expected to be
present at our Monterey Park headquarters approximately twice a
month.Responsibilities:Implement, maintain, and audit all aspects
of payroll and benefits processing and administration Prepare
reports and financial analysis related to employee hours/overtime;
payroll, benefits and retirement plan data; budget variances; and
other reporting as needed Develop and/or improve process(es) within
payroll department to improve service deliverySupervise at least 3
staff members; provide support, training and leadership to
effectively lead payroll departmentPromote a continuous improvement
/ learning environment and values new and innovative ways to solve
complex problemsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance or
administration related field; payroll certification combined with
experience may be considered in lieu of degreeMinimum of 5-10 years
of experience in retirement, payroll, and benefit
administrationMinimum of 5-10 years of experience in managing a
payroll team (supervising three or more staff) Experience managing
full cycle payroll for 300+ employeesStrong technical computer
skills, including proficiency in ADP, Microsoft Office suite and
comfort learning software systemsSolid interpersonal skills and
ability to interface with and provide excellent customer service to
all employees, clients, vendors, and business contactsMust be
eligible to work in the United StatesMust reside in the Southern
California area Must be able to provide proof of full COVID-19
vaccination plus booster statusCompensation & Benefits:Annual
salary starting at $100,000 commensurate with experience and
qualifications. CLC offers an excellent benefits package including
