As a Culinary Cook, you are responsible for preparing high-quality
meals in a timely manner, following recipe guidelines and utilizing
a variety of cooking methods while maintaining Island Company
Culinary standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Job duties include,
although are not limited to: Ability to manage the operation of the
assigned station Prepare food items per guest orders of consistent
quality, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards
Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment Date all
food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all
perishables are kept at proper temperatures, return all food items
not used to designated storage areas Knowledge of kitchen safety
and service standards Communicate closely with FOH and BOH
management and maintain a food working relationship with fellow
team members Maintain knowledge of the kitchen, daily events,
safety, and service standards Store items properly at the end of
the shift Ensure a clean and organized work area Follow all
guidelines for timely food service Other duties as assigned
Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: March - October PAY
TRANSPARENCY The pay scale for this position ranges between
$20.00-$25.00 per hour depending on the work location and
experience level. The pay is the hourly rate. The total
compensation package is determined by work location and additional
factors, including job-related skills, experience and education or
training. SCHEDULE This position requires a flexible schedule with
shifts that consist of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekends
shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years old California Food
Handlers Certificate required Prior high volume culinary line
experience Ability to remain calm and work well in a fast-paced,
high-pressured environment Ability to communicate clearly and
effectively Commitment to delivering exceptional service Ability to
partner with coworkers in a team environment Must be able to
multi-task WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Our workplace is
clean, lighted and ventilated with proper safety compliance. Noise
levels are considered medium and daily physical activities are
considered moderate. Employees must have the stamina to work long
hours if assigned. Hours and days of work may vary by position.
Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature is
moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be
able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be
physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well
as delicate china and glassware. Up to 50 lbs. Also, you must be
physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for
an extended period of time. This position requires manual
dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking,
