Job Description:
Job DescriptionBlue Sky Industries is a certified distributor of
Aerospace Fasteners and related hardware. They specialize in
aerospace fasteners and aircraft spares to distribute products and
services to military, commercial, and strategic aerospace markets.
Their office is located in Monterey Park, California, Blue Sky
Industries is servicing customers and suppliers worldwide. Blue Sky
Industries is looking for a Buyer is responsible for the costing,
negotiation, profit, purchasing, sourcing, sales team and
production support, technical assistance, bill of material and
inventory management of product/material procured in support of the
company's business. The focus of this position is to maximize the
company gross margins, help the sales organization win more
business through better sourcing/costing and assist with inventory
management to maximize return on investment and meet customer and
company requirements. Responsibilities:
- Prepare sales proposals on computer each day.
- Sourcing products at the lowest possible cost
- Develop cost and pricing recommendations for customer quotes
and cable bill of materials
- Establish beneficial/advantageous relationships with current
and new suppliers
- Provide technical/product knowledge when required, cross
reference/equivalent sourcing
- Provide customer bill of material and drawing review to
identify required material
- Support Quality department and Cable Production teams as
needed
- Update and manage product, part number and pricing information
on company software system
- Update and manage product cost and bill of material information
on company software system
- Negotiate best cost and delivery terms with suppliers
- Find alternative, new and lower cost suppliers
- Process and record supplier quotes and responses Basic
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of buyer experience in the aerospace or electronic
components industry is helpful.
- Bachelor's Degree or professional experience equivalent.
- Experience with an ERP system and must be able to learn company
proprietary software.
- Must be a strong and intelligent negotiator.
- Prior experience working in electronic component purchasing and
inventory management will be an advantage.
- A self-motivated and quick learner with the ability to
multitask in a high-pressure environment.
- Sharp attention to detail, attentiveness, and accuracy are of
utmost importance.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlooks, and Teams). Blue Sky Industries is an Equal
